The Japanese government now requires the following three pillars to grant this visa.
Experience & Language (N2)
As a general rule, you must have lived in Japan continuously for at least 10 years (including 5 years on a work visa).
Mandatory Office & Employment
You must secure an independent physical office (home offices are prohibited) and strictly employ at least one full-time resident (e.g., Japanese national, Permanent Resident, or their spouse).
30M JPY Capital & Certified Business Plan
The minimum capital requirement is now 30 million JPY. Additionally, your business plan must be formally reviewed and stamped by a certified professional (CPA / Tax Accountant / SME Management Consultant).
Warning: Intense Scrutiny on the "Source of Funds"
Simply having 30 million yen in a Japanese bank account is not enough. To combat money laundering, the Immigration Bureau will meticulously trace the origin of your capital (e.g., past salary slips, tax returns, stock sales, inheritance records). If the source of funds cannot be legally and logically proven, your application will be flatly denied, regardless of how excellent your business plan is.
