Document Certification
We provide document certification services as a qualified certifier for use in overseas procedures, such as opening an international bank account, incorporating or renewing an offshore company, or applying for study abroad. Certified documents may include passports, certificates, and official letters.
Please note that
- No refunds will be provided under any circumstances, including cases where the certification is deemed invalid by the recipient.
- We ask you to reconfirm with the recipient, before requesting our certification services, who should act as a certifier.
- If the recipient specifies that the document must be "notarised" or "apostilled", this often indicates a requirement for certification by a notary public, and certifications issued by an administrative scrivener (Gyoseishoshi lawyer) may be considered invalid.
| SERVICE OVERVIEW |
Our Document Certification service involves an official certification of a copy of your original document by a licensed Japanese lawyer, including Administrative Scrivener / Gyoseishoshi lawyer. The certified copy confirms that it is a true and accurate reproduction of the original.
Many overseas institutions accept certification by an Administrative Scrivener / Gyoseishoshi lawyer for official or compliance purposes. This can be a convenient and cost-effective alternative to notarisation, especially when a notary public is not specifically required.
IMPORTANT: As for KYC documents like passport or driver's license, the signer must be face-to-face with the certifier at the time of the certification.
Typical purposes for which our certification may be accepted
- Banks and financial institutions – for account opening, KYC (Know Your Customer) checks, or compliance procedures requiring proof of identity or address.
- Universities and educational institutions – for admission applications requiring certified copies of diplomas, transcripts, or other academic records.
- Employers or recruitment agencies – for work visa sponsorship or background verification requiring certified copies of ID, qualifications, or employment records.
- Offshore companies and corporate registries – for company formation, shareholder registration, or submission of corporate documents.
- Business licenses – for membership or licence applications requiring certified copies of credentials..
